Nihonto.ca Screensaver

UPDATE: I have made a new version of the screensaver with additional photographs of swords from my site. I have not updated the Mac package yet, will get around to it one day.

I put together about 70 or so of my photographs from this site into a Windows based screensaver installation program. Basically just download and run it (it is virus free, but this doesn't mean you should not check it first... trust, but verify!)

It will install the photographs and some options into the Windows Display Options panel, along with some start menu options and a desktop icon to start the screensaver.

I only tested on XP, and won't test on anything else. This was a one day couple hour lark, and I will probably update the photographs as I get more.

It's provided as a fix for sword junkies who cannot get enough of the good stuff. It's meant to enjoy. They are all swords that have been, or are on my site, or may be in the future (tease!). If you are the new owner of one of these and you want it excluded, feel free to let me know and I'll make sure to exclude it.

It is a 4.5 megabyte download.

By downloading this screensaver installation program and running it, you of course idemnify the author and host from any potential legal issues that may arise in regards to this package and/or your use of it. That is to say you're agreeing not to sue me :-). You may distribute to friends, provided they agree to this as well. It is provided to you in a non-commercial manner for you to enjoy pictures of shiny objects, and as such, you also agree that you won't try to sell it to anyone. You will also choose to point people to this page for them to download rather than email them a copy of your installer, since this way if your machine is bearing a virus, it won't infect the installer and get me blamed for it. If you want to host this installer package, I will probably be glad to let you, but you agree to ask me first and let me decide.

In the case someone gave you the link to the executable directly, instead of this landing page, you still agree to all of the above. If the law says that you can't, then obviously the guy who gave you the link is going to bear some responsibility for linking to the exe instead of this landing page.

Mac Users: you are welcome to download and use the photographs directly in your screensaver utility. Click here to download a zip file containing the photographs. You'll need a program that can unpack zip files, but I think OSX does this. It is a 3.5 megabyte download.
